Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Dec.5, Iranian state IRINN TV reported.
Maliki arrived in Tehran on Dec. 4, to discuss regional and international issues with senior Iranian officials during his two-day visit.
Khamenei underlined that nothing can prevent boosting Iran-Iraq bilateral relations during the meeting.
Referring Iran's scientific achievements in recent years, he added that Iran can transfer its scientific experience to Iraq.
Kamenei also wished for Iraqi president Jalal Talabani to regain his health and named him as "good and intimate friend" of the Islamic Republic. He also praised Maliki`s role in Iraq.
The Iraqi official also met with Iranian president Hassan Rouhani on Dec. 5.
Maliki and Rouhani discussed mutual relations and other important issues. Both sides emphasized further boosting cooperation between the countries.
Previously Maliki met with Iranian first vice president Eshaq Jahangiri on Dec. 4, and discussed issues such as terrorism, the Syrian crisis, and further expansion of economic ties between their countries.
