Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said that the administration will revive the National Symphony Orchestra in the next couple of months, Iranian IRINN TV reported on Jan. 9.

"I am so sorry to see the Iranian National Orchestra shut down," Rouhani said, adding that "the administration will seriously pursue its revival, even if it results in another yellow card to the Culture Minister, Ali Jannati from the parliament."

A "yellow card" is a term used in Iranian media, when a particular minister is questioned in the parliament, and the MPs are left unsatisfied with a minister's answers.

It should be noted that Jannati has been questioned in the Iranian parliament on Jan. 7, by a hard-line lawmaker over some of his comments against the closure of newspapers and defending the solo singing of women.

Hardliners accuse Jannati of showing tolerance toward the insulting of religious sanctities and for not being strict enough regarding religious principles.

Rouhani went on to say that, his administration is not concerned about parliament's yellow cards.

"We are proud of peoples such a as Jannati who defend freedom," he added.

Iran's National Orchestra was founded in 1998 under the conduction of Farhad Fakhreddini and dissolved in October 2012, reportedly because of financial problems.
