Turkish Interior Minister Muammer Guler denied the accusations of some media outlets that Turkey provides assistance to the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organisation which is the Syrian wing of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organisation," Anadolu agency reported.
In his statement, Guler noted that the information of websites and portals, the objectivity of which is under doubt, should not be trusted.
The Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organisation was created on January 23, 2012 during the civil war in Syria. Jabhat al-Nusra was declared a terrorist organisation by the UN and governments of the U.S., Australia and the UK.
Clashes between government forces and the armed opposition have been continuing in Syria for over two years. According to UN statistics, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria exceeds 110,000 people and nearly three million are in need of humanitarian aid.
