Severe storm damages track on Georgian-Turkish border

A strong storm in the Black Sea damaged the central route, which connects Georgia and Turkey in the area of border crossing point Sarpi. As reported by Georgian TV, a few kilometers on asphalt road collapsed, there were deep cracks, which are caused by leaching of the soil under the road.

A strong storm in the Black Sea damaged the central route, which connects Georgia and Turkey in the area of border crossing point Sarpi. As reported by Georgian TV, a few kilometers on asphalt road collapsed, there were deep cracks, which are caused by leaching of the soil under the road.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the collapse of the road.
Movement on the track was stopped for safety reasons. Traffic on the Georgian-Turkish border is implemented through the bypass, through the old road.
Traffic departments of the two countries are discussing the possibility of the road recovery.
