No HPP should be constructed in Georgia without a thorough analysis and study of the project, Minister of Environment Protection of Georgia Khatuna Gogaladze said at a press conference on Monday.
She noted that she will personally visit all the hot spots and get acquainted with the situation.
"The issue of HPP is very serious, and special attention is given to it in the ministry. No HPP should be constructed in Georgia without a thorough analysis and study of the project. Its financial, economic, and environmental aspects should be considered and then an objective conclusion about that there is no permanent impact on the environment should be made. All the conclusions will be made after a thorough study of the fundamental," Gogaladze said.
It is planned to construct 15 HPPs for two years.
