Georgia tightens visa regime for entering foreigners as of September. Additional procedures and documents will be required for entry to the country, and it is planned to establish visa regime with some countries.

Migration policy was not advanced in the country and the new government has started to work on this, according to the Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze.

"Association Agreement considers a lot of issues. But at the same time, these are the themes that and were due to be regulated by Georgia. Something needs to be tightened, something has changed and something simplified," she noted.

Executive secretary of the government commission on migration Giorgi Jashi. noted that Georgia is in dialogue with the EU on visa liberalization, which considers the following: flow of foreigners in the country should be controlled with the help of law.

"The law will protect the rights of these people, and if a corresponding decision to expel illegal migrants is adopted, it will be regulated by the law," he noted.

After the adoption of the visa regime, the period of stay of tourists in the country will be strictly determined. The process will be fully controlled by the migration service, which will operate in the near future. The construction of temporary accommodation center for foreigners where individuals who violate the visa regime and subjected to forced departure from the country will be placed has already been completed. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will be responsible for the withdrawal of the foreigners.
