Russia's President Vladimir Putin has said his daughters live in Russia, and they have never studied abroad and aren't engaged in business or politics.
"Most recently, everyone was claiming that my daughters are studying abroad and live permanently abroad," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying Dec. 17 at a press conference in Moscow.
"Now, thank God, nobody writes that, now they say that they [Putin's daughters] live in Russia, and that's true, and that they have never departed for anywhere for a permanent residence," he added.
Putin also said his daughters have never studied outside of Russia.
"They studied only in Russian universities," he stressed. "This doesn't mean that they don't have contacts with their colleagues. I am proud of them. They continue to study and work."
Russian president further noted that he wouldn't talk about the jobs of his daughters - security being one of the reasons.
