Sri Lanka wants Azerbaijan to explore and develop its oil-and-gas fields, newly appointed Sri Lanka Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohammad Zuhair told Azerbaijani Industrial and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev, Industrial and Energy Ministry spokesman Azer Mansimli said on Feb. 10.
In recent years, explorations revealed considerable energy resources in Sri Lanka. Azerbaijan's participation would be expedient as the country has a wealth of experience in the sector, Zuhair said.
Zuhair said Sri Lanka's interest in developing relations with Azerbaijan in the industry has increased on the backdrop of the country's increased oil and petroleum needs.
Azerbaijan has significant experience in major energy projects, Aliyev said.
Aliyev met with newly appointed Angolan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sauelm Titu.
Titui said Angola is interested in studying Azerbaijan's oil strategy.
Angola is rich in oil reserves. Sharing experience in this sector will benefit both countries, Aliyev said.
