Soluna Samay has won the right to represent Denmark in Baku in May with the song Should've Known Better, Trend reported with reference to the Eurovision official website.

Soluna Samay, otherwise known as Soluna Samay Cattell Ziegler, was born in Guatemala on August 27, 1990 to a German, Swiss family. She moved to Denmark after 2000. From her childhood she performed in the streets in various cities with her parents. Her professional career began with the debut album 'Sing Out Loud' released in September 2011.

The Danish national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012 was held in the Gigantium Arena in Aalborg. The country used a local and international jury which included Azerbaijani Eurovision 2011winners Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal and Aysel, who took third place at Eurovision 2009. Also on the jury were famous producer and composer Isa Melikov and Eurovision 2010 winner Dilara Kazimova.

Besides Azerbaijan, the international jury included: Germany - Oceana (singer), Rüdiger Brans (singer, The Baseballs lead singer), Peter Bergener (journalist), Roger Cicero (singer, Eurovision 2007 song contest), Mike Rötgens (producer);

Norway - Alexander Rybak, singer and Eurovision 2009 winner, Venke Knutson (singer), Omer Bhatti (rapper and Michael Jackson's close friend), Kjell Peter Askersrud (Professor) and Bjørn Johan Muri (singer).

Also included were: Russia - Alexei Vorobiev (Eurovision 2011 participant), Lera Masskva (singer), Yuri Medianik (musician), Anna Kulikova (singer) and Mario Durand (singer, violinist).
