Azerbaijan will never support initiatives and proposals that could harm relations with Iran, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told reporters in Baku on Tuesday.
"There are neighborly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, which was confirmed by Nakhchivan statement of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran," the Minister said.
Several Israeli media spread the information that Azerbaijan allegedly gave Israel an airfield near the border with Iran, quoting an article in Foreign Policy magazine.
The Defense Ministry has noted that there is no basis for such information.
Presidential Administration official Ali Hasanov told reporters that Azerbaijan has never been used and will not be used for any actions against Iran.
