Cable television operator in Azerbaijan B & BTV Communications is in talks to attract investment in the deployment of digital cable and terrestrial TV in Baku, Marketing Manager of B & BTV Communications Samir Mahmudov told Trend.
According to Mahmudov, the project is large enough to require significant investment.
The company plans to expand digital television across the whole country. To this end, according to Mahmudov, the company is also considering additional funding in the form of a loan.
Also, according to Mahmudov, appeal for assigning frequencies for the deployment of digital TV in the capital has been considered by relevant authorities. A tentative agreement for assigning these frequencies has been reached with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan.
Official issuance of frequencies to cable operators is expected by the end of January.
The company plans to provide one social package that will be available to all. The main basic and advanced basic packages as well as some new packages highly specialized in accordance with consumers interests (cognitive, sports channels, movies, etc.) will be provided on a commercial basis.
