In September 2013, the total number of electronic-digital signatures (EDS) issued in Azerbaijan by the National Certification Services Centre increased by 2.17 per cent, reaching 15,953 units as of September 1, the Information Computing Centre (ICC) of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) told Trend on Tuesday.
According to the ICC, the number EDS owners increased nearly sevenfold in Azerbaijan since early 2013.
In September, the National Certification Services Centre issued 340 digital signature cards.
Out of the total number of issued EDS, some 11,986 units accounted for government agencies, 494 units were issued to legal entities and 3473 to citizens.
Some 256 services out of the total number of approved electronic services (417) are available on the e-government portal (e-gov.az).
The total number of e-services available on the Azerbaijani government's websites is 432.
From December 2012 to October 1, 2013 the number of visits to the e- government portal from was 359,187. The total number of users visiting the portal was 212,281. The electronic services have been used 501,253 times.
New visitors to the resource number 59.3 per cent of the total number of users.
