Baku, Azerbaijan, April 1
By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:
Problems in the technical center located in Moscow are causing a delay in the launch of the money transfer system, STEFI (Secured Transfer of Electronic Financial Information) between postal operators of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, Azerpoct LLC told Trend on April 1.
Plans were to commission the service in March.
Currently, work on eliminating the technical problems is underway and the system will be put into operation after its completion, Azerpoct said.
The use of STEFI system will allow Azerbaijan's postal operator to carry out urgent money transfers with Kyrgyzstan within 30 minutes.
Moreover, currently tests are underway for launching such a system with Tajikistan.
At present, Azerbaijani postal operator offers services on urgent money transfer on the STEFI system in Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Kazakhstan and the UAE.
It is considering such services in Uzbekistan, Estonia and Latvia in the future.
The main advantage is the income generated within these transactions remains at Azerpoct LLC's disposal.
The STEFI system was worked out by the Postal Technology Centre of the Universal Postal Union and enables a move from the paper exchange of international money transfers to electronic.
