BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. The commission, established in accordance with the instruction of the President of Azerbaijan and the decree of the Prime Minister dated June 21, 2023, with the aim of monitoring and assessing the current situation in the territory of the Soyudlu village of Gadabay region, has conducted a study and monitoring, based on the results of which the current situation was analyzed, following which the proposals related to improving health, safety and the environment have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers, Trend reports.
The results showed that the enterprise operating in the area has violated the rules of safety, environmental protection and sanitation, and the permission of the relevant executive authorities during the operation and construction was not received.
For this reason, in the prepared package of proposals, a decision was made to temporarily suspend the activities of the enterprise.
The plan of proposals includes an environmental audit of the territory with the participation of international companies, preparation of a plan for the rehabilitation and reclamation of the waste storage facility, checking the sustainability of the existing waste storage facility and dam, and the full implementation of environmental sanitary and hygienic requirements.
Also, the continuation of the further activities of the company was added to the plan of proposals, subject to the use of modern technologies in production.
Improving relations with the local population, the implementation of corporate medical and social projects in the village of Soyudlu are the responsibility of the company.
Today in Gadabay region a regular meeting of the commission, a meeting with representatives of the operating company and a discussion of a package of proposals took place. Later, a meeting was organized with the villagers, where they were informed about the work done by the commission.
