Inner City, or Icherisheher in Azerbaijani, is a historic part and a sight of Baku, which a must-see place for the tourists who will come to Azerbaijan for the First European Games.
Baku 2015 European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent, will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
The Icherisheher is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, on a small hill. It has a total area of 22 hectares.
It was in 1977 given the status of historical and architectural reserve. In December 2000, the Maiden Tower and the Shirvanshahs' Palace, located in the Icherisheher, were included to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
