The first European Games Baku 2015 will give impetus to the growth of the international authority of Azerbaijan, Professor of the All European Academies Organization Juri Engelbrecht
He said that these Games will bring together Azerbaijan with many countries of the world and enhance its international prestige.
More than 6,000 athletes will participate in the European Games. Naturally, tens of thousands of fans, who will be able to get acquainted with the country, will come together with the athletes.
After visiting Azerbaijan, they will tell about it to their friends, and it will contribute to increasing tourist interest for the country, the professor said.
He went on to add that Azerbaijan, having held these Games, will contribute to the restoration of peace and stability throughout the world.
Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
