Baku, Azerbaijan, June 11
By Elena Kosolapova, Elchin Mehdiyev - Trend:
Patrick Hickey, president of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) believes that calls to boycott the upcoming European Games in Baku will bring no results.
Speaking at a press conference in Baku, Hickey said there are always boycotts at Olympic games and similar big-scale events, but they never bring any results.
Hickey said it was proven in the past that boycotting doesn't work and won't work, adding that it is a lost cause.
Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
