Azerbaijani boxer Teymur Mammadov believes he will win a gold medal at the Baku 2015 European Games, and that Azerbaijan's flag will be waved at the ceremony of awarding the boxing event medals.
Mammadov already came out victorious from a match with the British athlete in a 1/16 finals, thus advancing to the 1/8 finals.
He said it wasn't so difficult to defeat his rival from the UK.
The boxer, however, said the competition involves strong athletes, noting that he believes in his strength.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
