Five athletes will represent Azerbaijan in the boxing competitions as part of the first European Games in Baku June 19.

Anakhanum Agayeva, representing the country in women's fly (48-51 kg weight category), will begin competing first among Azerbaijani boxers. She will compete with the athlete from Poland Sandra Drabik in 1/8 final. The match started at 13:15 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

Then Azerbaijani athlete Leyla Javadova, representing the country in women's middle (69-75 kg weight category) will begin competing. She will compete with the athlete from Russia Yaroslava Yakushina in 1/8 final. The match will be held at 19:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

Tayfur Aliyev, representing Azerbaijan in men's bantam (56 kg weight category), will begin competing first among men. He will compete with boxer from Romania Nicolae Andreiana in the 1/8 final. The match will be held at 15:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

Then Azerbaijani boxer Teymur Mammadov, representing the country in men's light heavy (81 kg), will begin competing. Olympic champion, world champion and champion of Europe Mammadov will compete with athlete from Poland Jordan Kuliński in the 1/8 final. The match will be held at 21:15 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

Then Olympic bronze medalist, world champion Mammadrasul Majidov, representing the country in men's heavy (over 91 kg), will begin competing at 21:45 (UTC/GMT +4 hours). He will compete with the athlete from Georgia Mikheil Bahtidze.

The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There are a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.

More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
