Azerbaijan created Olympic atmosphere at European Games - German athlete

Azerbaijan has managed to create Olympic atmosphere at the first European Games in Baku, participant of badminton competitions within the framework of European Games German Dieter Domke told Trend June 24.
"The opening ceremony of the European Games was great," said Domke. "I feel like at the Olympics. I really like the organization of competitions. The bar is set quite high."
He went on to add that he is in Azerbaijan for the first time.
"I really liked Baku," said the athlete. "It is very beautiful, and I hope to visit this city more than once."
Domke said that he intends to show good results at competitions of the European Games.
"I managed to gain victory in a difficult group," he said. "I am very determined to win and hope that I will be able to show good results on the results of competitions."
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There are a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
