The inaugural European Games have been a great success for Baku 2015 International and National Athlete Ambassadors. Competing with Europe's leading elite athletes, the Ambassadors were able to reach the highest results and prove once again their important Ambassador roles.

Minister of Youth and Sport for the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chief Executive of Baku 2015, Mr Azad Rahimov, said: "We had no doubt that our talented Athlete Ambassadors would do a great job promoting Baku 2015 around Europe as well as in Azerbaijan.
'They backed this up showing great results in the competitions. I am delighted to see how many medals our Ambassadors won and I want specifically congratulate Azerbaijani athletes Maria Durunda, Nazim Babayev and Maria Stadnik for the outstanding results. We thank them all for their outstanding support and contribution to the success of the inaugural European Games.'

There were 253 medal events in the inaugural European Games.
