Some 55,900 mobile phones and other telephone sets running on wireless networks (tablet computers, radiophones, etc.) in the total amount of $3.095 million were imported in Azerbaijan in January-August, the State Statistics Committee told Trend Oct. 16.
The number of imported mobile phones decreased by 4.8 percent compared to January-August 2013 (53,341 mobile phones were imported last year), according to the State Statistics Committee. In value terms, this index increased by 28.4 percent.
On average, the country imported 7,000 mobile phones monthly. The monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms amounted to $387,000.
