Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture attracts consultants within WB project

Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture has announced a request of interests within the framework of the Agricultural Competitiveness Improvement Project, implemented jointly with the World Bank, said the message of the ministry, published June 22 in the official press.

The tender involves the provision of consulting services for the establishment of productive cooperation in the field of marketing chains in agriculture, preparation of investment offers to the participants of the marketing chain.

Applications for participation in the request of interests must be submitted till July 3, 2015.

The Agricultural Competitiveness Improvement Project (ACIP) was approved September 30, 2013. The total contract value amounts to $53.25 million.

The purpose of the project is to facilitate the access of agricultural producers by strengthening sanitary and phytosanitary services, expansion of selected marketing chains, the provision of financial services to companies operating in this field.

It is expected that the project will end December 31, 2018.

Azerbaijan became a WB member since 1992.

As of January 1, 2015, the World Bank has allocated loans to Azerbaijan in the amount of $3.739.02 billion. These funds were used to finance more than 50 projects. By the beginning of this year, Azerbaijan spent $2.297 billion, or 66.4 percent of total loans attracted through the World Bank. In addition to these loans, the World Bank allocated to Azerbaijan 45 grants totaling $41.586 million in 1995-2014.
