Pictures of Azerbaijani satellite to be used in agriculture

Pictures taken from AzerSky, a low-orbit satellite of Azerbaijan, will be used in agriculture, said the message of Azercosmos OJSC of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan.
The OJSC and the State Geodetic Administration of Azerbaijan in accordance with the agreement will cooperate within the framework of the "Land Parcel Identification System" project, which is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan.
Satellite images will be used for the construction of orthophoto plans. Taking pictures of the earth's surface will be carried out before late 2015.
Pictures will be obtained both from the AzerSky satellite and the Pleiades satellite of the French Airbus Defence and Space company. The resolution of images obtained from the Pleiades satellite, is 0.5 meters, and Azersky satellite - 1,5 meters.
The Azersky satellite has been transferred to Azerbaijan on the basis of an agreement signed December 2, 2014 between the Azercosmos OJSC and the French Airbus Defence and Space.
