Kazakh oil transportation via Azerbaijan declines

In January-November 2015, as many as 3.2 million tons of oil and oil products were transported to the Georgian port of Batumi through Azerbaijan, a source on the oil and gas market of Azerbaijan told Trend Dec.10.

The source said that on the results of 2015, transportation indicators will be lower than in 2014.

"Last year, the volume of transshipment of oil and oil products to the port of Batumi through Azerbaijan totaled 4.4 million tons," said the source. "In view of the fact that 3.2 million tons were transported for 11 months, on the results of 2015, this figure will be 3.5-3.6 million tons, which is lower than last year."

At the same time, the source didn't name the reasons for the decline in transshipment.

"Regarding the export of oil and oil products to Kazakhstan, it is no more carried out since 2013," the source said.

Transportation of Kazakh oil and oil products in the direction of Batumi oil terminal is carried out by tankers on Aktau-Baku route and Baku-Batumi railway route.
