The turnover of the catering sector in Azerbaijan has decreased from January through May 2021, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee.
According to the source, in the reporting period, this indicator amounted to 281.2 million manat ($76.1 million), down by 19.3 percent compared to the same period of 2020.
Meanwhile, in the private sector, 49.2 percent of turnover accounted for legal entities and 50.8 percent - for individual entrepreneurs.
In 2020, the turnover of the catering sector in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku decreased by 59.4 percent in real terms compared to 2019 and amounted to 476.2 million manat ($280.1 million). At the same time, 55.5 percent of the turnover in the public catering sector in the private sector accounted for legal entities, 44.5 percent - for individual entrepreneurs.
The turnover of legal entities in 2020 declined by 45 percent compared to 2019 and amounted to 266.9 million manat ($157 million).
