BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. A total of $62.3 billion were invested in Azerbaijan's economy over the past 10 years, Azerbaijan's Deputy Economy Minister Sahib Mammadov said, Trend reports.
He made the remark during the presentation of the "Investor Map" to finance the goals of sustainable development of the economy of Azerbaijan.
According to him, these rates are growing annually. He said that he is confident that foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Azerbaijani economy will continue to grow.
"We are holding high-level events aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). We have already submitted a report on the implementation of the SDGs to the UN three times, in 2017, 2019, and 2020. In the last report, we improved our positions and took 50th place. I would like to note that the next report on the implementation of the SDGs in Azerbaijan is planned to be submitted to the UN in 2024, and we are confident that our country's position will be further improved," he said.
Mammadov noted that the implementation of the projects in the field of the green economy will allow Azerbaijan to achieve the best SDG rates.
"In 2022, real GDP grew by 4.6 percent. Over the past ten years, Azerbaijan's economy in the non-oil sector has grown significantly and has even become a driver of economic growth. Also, a favorable investment climate allows us to attract FDI to the country," he added.
