BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. Azerbaijan's state bodies, enterprises, and organizations earned $491 million on the securities market in the first half of this year, the Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Samir Nasirov said during a media briefing, Trend reports.
“In the first half of this year, Azerbaijani state bodies, enterprises, and organizations earned $491 million on the securities market, which is 49 percent higher than the figure of the same period last year,” he stressed.
According to him, in the first half of this year, portfolio investments of departments, enterprises, and organizations of Azerbaijan amounted to $610 million.
“Organizations invest free funds in local as well as foreign securities, which means additional income for the country in the future. During the reporting period, directorates, enterprises, and organizations allocated $700 million to fulfill external debt obligations. The country's total liabilities decreased by $1.3 billion during the reporting period,” he added.
