ELS center to hold exit poll at 1,180 polling stations in Azerbaijan

During the upcoming parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, ELS Independent Research Center will hold the exit poll at 1,180 polling stations in 118 constituencies upon the request of Trend news agency, head of ELS center Irada Yagubova said during the press conference Oct.28.

She said the exit poll will cover all districts of Azerbaijan, except for the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

"The results of the exit poll will be announced till 20:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours) on the election day," said Yagubova.

During the press conference, she spoke about the ELS center's activities, adding that it has great experience in holding exit poll.

The center's head said the trainings for those who will hold the exit poll have already been completed and starting from today, all the required documents and materials will be sent to Azerbaijan's districts.

Yagubova said that around 2,600 people will be involved in holding the exit poll during the parliamentary election.

She added that funds will be allocated for those who will hold the exit poll to cover their travel and other expenditures.

In total, it is planned to spend 33,000 manats on holding the exit poll in 2015, according to Yagubova.

The official exchange rate on Oct.28 is 1.0490 AZN/USD.

Azerbaijan will hold parliamentary election Nov.1, with participation of 769 candidates.

As many as 465 observers from 36 international structures have been accredited in the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan for observing the parliamentary election. In total, the missions representing 53 countries will observe the election.
