There is progress in the negotiations process on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, OSCE Minsk Group's Russian Co-chairman, Yuri Merzlakov, said at a press conference in Yerevan on 17 September, Novosti-Armenia quotes.
"We are moving in the right direction. Now we have less unsettled issues to consider within the basic settlement principles that we suggested to the conflicting parties. I cannot say we are close to completion, but there has been some progress," he said.
According to the co-chairman, the settlement process requires time and progress was first achieved 3 years ago. "This is a complicated issue involving apprehension by both sides, a reaction from the mediators and the restructuring of previously made proposals. All this, of course, requires time," he said.
