I consider it to be wrong to put forward the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for US's consideration, OSCE Minsk Group's Russian Co-chairman, Yuri Merzlakov, said at a press conference in Yerevan on 17 September, Novosti-Armenia quotes.
"It would be wrong to say that settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts is transferred to the UN. It would be incorrect both from the legal, political, and diplomatic standpoint," he said.
According to Merzlakov, it will be possible to transfer consideration of the issue to the UN only with the mutual agreement of both parties. Any draft resolution adopted at the UN General Assembly can be only through recommendation, he noted.
Members will discuss unresolved ongoing conflicts in the GUAM area at the 62nd session of the US General Assembly on 3 October.
