Format of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group is an optimal and prospective to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, based on consensus, Suren Surenyants, a member of the Political Council of the Armenian opposition Republic Party, said.

"Although some Minsk Group member-countries stated their support to territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, Armenia cannot refuse from the format, Surenyants said at a news conference on 25 September.

"Turkey seeks to gain points in the European Union's (EU) opinion, offering its assistance in the process," Surenyants said assessing influence of the Armenian-Turkish relations on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process.

"President Gul (Turkish President - News-Armenia) only offered his assistance, but did not mention any mediation and Ankara should hold unbiased position in the case," the opposition politician said.
