Head of presidential administration department: Armenia can not develop in region without Turkey and Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, July 21 /Trend, U.Sadikhova/

Not returning the dead body of the Azerbaijani serviceman, Armenia denies the international organizations and certain laws and regulations covering international humanitarian sphere, head of the foreign relations department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov told journalists on July 21.

"Unfortunately, the Armenians have shown their character and insidiousness here as well, thus they are ignoring the international organizations and certain laws and regulations covering the international humanitarian sphere. But I think that with this step, they discredit themselves, sooner or later, this issue should be resolved, serious steps are taken and our work continues with relevant structures in this regard," said Mammadov.

The department head of the Presidential Administration said that international organizations must demonstrate an even more serious and concrete position on this issue.

"Returning dead body of the Azerbaijani serviceman is part of the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Throughout this process, the Armenians are behaving too self-confident as those who can refuse obeying to these laws. But the leadership of Armenia and the Armenian people should know that already in this process, they put the future of this country and this nation under a big question. They can be sure hundred percent that they will not be able to achieve anything with this. Simply the international organizations and community must take a more serious and concrete position on this question," said Mammadov.
With regards to Armenia's returning Lachin corridor as a result of its returning five districts which will again serve maintaining Nakhchivan in blockade, the head of the department said that this issue will never remain unresolved.

"In fact, today the Armenian leadership has become the hostage of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. If the conflict is resolved, the corridor and communication will be opened between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, which is part of Azerbaijan. It is unworthy to doubt on this," said Mammadov.

"Armenia has more need for this corridor than us. The fact is that the leadership of Armenia and the Armenian nation have created a great obstacle for their development, closing the way of development for a long time. Armenia has not and can not have the development in this region without Turkey and Azerbaijan. They think about it, but can not decide to take a step," said the head of department.

With regards to the Almaty meeting of foreign ministers, Mammadov said that desired result was not achieved at the meeting.

"But I think that the process has not stopped. Now the process is in such a way that all the circles of the international community, the co-chair countries, presidents and ministers take joint steps. Sooner or later the Armenian side will have to answer. The Armenian side frequently commits such actions in order to delay time, but the world community, the international community and co-chair countries should demand Armenia to take concrete steps. The Armenian side has not any choice, must answer the proposed Madrid principles, and we expect this," said Mammadov.
