By Elmira Tariverdiyeva – Trend:

Trend Agency once again caught Armenian media lying, and prevented an unacceptable provocation against the US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Richard Hoagland.

On Feb. 26, Armenia’s Armenpress news agency repeatedly violated journalism ethics and standards by publishing an article that could have triggered a huge misunderstanding of Hoagland’s words in Baku.

In the article published by the Armenpress, Hoagland allegedly used the word “Artsakh” while commenting on the Feb. 26 incident on the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops.

Meanwhile, Trend contacted Mr. Hoagland himself to confirm or deny using the mentioned word in his official statement.

In response to the request, Trend received the following letter with the original text of Hoagland’s statement.

“This latest incident once again underscores the urgent need for the parties to immediately resume negotiations on establishing lasting security and peace in the region,” said the statement. “In our Feb. 26 statement, my fellow Co-Chairs and I reiterated our call for respect for the ceasefire and a commitment to the non-use of force.”

Thus, "Artsakh" is nowhere to be found.

Moreover, apparently, Hoagland protested against the distortion of his words, and the Armenpress agency completely rewrote its article, having removed the word “Artsakh” from it.
