RUSSIAN AMB AT OSCE MINSK GROUP EXPECTED

A delegation of the Rissian Foregn Ministry headed by Russian Ambassador Yiriy Merzlyakov, the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, will arrive in Baku on 10 July, a group on the resoution of the Aremian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh of the Russian Foreign Ministry annouced .

On 10-11 July the delegation plans to hold meeting with the country’s leadership, including President Ilham Aliyev, Foregn Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, and the head of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh, Nizami Bahmanov. The talks will be held with presence of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, French Ambassador Bernar Facie and U.S. Ambassador Steven Mann. The mission of co-chairs will leave Baku for Yerevan, to continue the consultions, and aferwards tour Khankandi, a centeral town of Nagorno-Karabakh region. The visit is to complete on 16 July.

Merzlyakov has recently told Regnum agency that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on the resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will submit to the consideration of the Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents in Kazan on 26 August a relevant document, designed during the so-called �Paris talks’. The Russian diplomat did not spoke on details of the document, but advised to wait for a meeting in Kazan. The Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents plan to meet in Kazan on 26-27 August 2005 under an informal Summit of CIS.
