Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / Peaceful talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia can be continued when the summer is over, the head of the International Relations Department at Azerbaijani President's Administration, Novruz Mammadov, reported. The latest meeting between the Presidents is planned to be continued this summer, Mammadov stated. However, summer is the time to rest both in political and diplomatic fields, Mammadov said.

"The next round of the talks falls on summer. Despite the summer, certain steps can be made in this connection," Mammadov said.

Mammadov did not comment on the reports on stoppage of 2-year Prague process on settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The conflict between two South Caucasus countries broke out in 1988 due to territorial claims of Armenia to Azerbaijan. Since 1992, 20% of Azerbaijani territories (Nagorno-Karabakh and 7 nearby regions), have been under the occupation of the Armenian Armed Forces. In May, 1994 the sides signed a ceasefire. Peace talks are still held under the auspices of the Minsk Group of the OSCE chaired by Russia, France and the United States, but in vain.
