Smuggling of large consignment of fireworks and phones foiled in Azerbaijan

Georgian citizen Nasibov Intigam Samad Oglu tried to import a large consignment of fireworks to Azerbaijan from Georgia, the State Customs Committee (SCC) official website stated.

Georgian citizen Nasibov Intigam Samad Oglu tried to import a large consignment of fireworks to Azerbaijan from Georgia, the State Customs Committee (SCC) official website stated.

In addition, customs foiled an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of mobile phones from Georgia to Azerbaijan.

Inspection of Oglu's KAMAZ truck with a state license plate reading ZYZ-196 resulted in the discovery and seizure of 1,406 firecrackers of various assortments and sizes and 385 boxes of various fireworks hidden from the customs control in the fuel tank located on the left of the vehicle.

Along with that, an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of mobile phones from Georgia to Azerbaijan was foiled at the "Siniq Korpu" customs port.

Inspection of a "BMW-525"car with a license plate reading 10 NZ 856 driven by Azebaijani citizen Zaur Rzayev resulted in the discovery of 171 "Nokia" and "Samsung" mobile phones and the same number of accessories (chargers, packs, 84 headphones, 25 USB-cables and 5 CDs) hidden from customs in the trunk in the space behind the rear seat and in other stashes of the car.

Inspection of a "QAZ 33021" truck with a license plate reading BF 582 driven by Azerbaijani citizen Gyandzhim Mahmudov resulted in the finding of 504 "Nokia", "Samsung", Xpress Music" and "KenXinDa" mobile phones with all accessories hidden in a specially made partition in the front part of the trunk of the vehicle.
