Russia, Moscow / Тrend corr R. Aghayev / "Change of Russian Government will not affect the relationships with Azerbaijan, for that will be Russia's internal changes and they will not to impact its foreign policy," the chairman of the Security Committee of Russian Parliament, Gennadiy Gudkov , said to Trend.

On 12 September, Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of Prime Minister, Mikhail Fradkov . He was replaced by the former head of Russian Financial Monitoring, Victor Zubkov . The Cabinet also experienced changes. The Economic Development Minister, the Health and Social Development Minister, the Regional Development Minister also resigned.

Gudkov believes the Cabinet rid itself of the unpopular figure of the former Health Minister, Mikhail Zurabov . The MP voiced his regret at the changes in the Government had not go further, for the expected reform of the whole Health & Social Development Ministry did not take place yet. "The changes in the Government cannot be called reforms, for they did not justify all expectations and therefore are only structural," he said.

Victor Zubkov showed himself positively and that will influence the Government and his work. "The only confusing thing is Zubkov's family links, as there are several families which are represented in the Russian Government in full composition. I consider this to be incorrect, though his professional peculiarities are undoubted," the MP said.

Last time Russian Government was changed in 2004. On 24 February, 2004, Vladimir Putin discharged the Cabinet of Mikhail Kasyanov and in a week proposed Mikhail Fradkov for the position of Prime Minister, who was approved by the Parliament on 5 March.
