Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend D.Khatinoglu / Aladdin Borujerdi, the chairman of the commission on national security and foreign policy of the Iranian Parliament, voiced his dissatisfaction with new geographic map, published in Azerbaijan and stated that indication of the territory of Iran and several nearby countries as the territory of Azerbaijan testifies for US policy and Zionism conducted in the region.
Borujerdi said that Iran respect e territorial integrity of neighboring countries, Iranian news agency ISNA reports. "If the territorial claims are raised, first of all the areas torn off Iran [by Azerbaijan] should be returned back," he stressed.
ISNA confirmed that the map published buy the History Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the territory of Iran and nearby countries were indicated as the territory of Azerbaijan.
Yagub Mammadov, the e Director of the History Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, said that it was an original map of Azerbaijan. "Through unfair decisions, these indicated areas were torn off Azerbaijan over the centuries. In the near future the map will be translated into English and Russia and speared all over the world," he stressed.
