К.Ramazanova / Azerbaijan plays an important role for NATO in security of the Caspian Sea and Caucasus region, as well as in the struggle against terrorism, NATO Communication Officer on the South Caucasus Sbignev Ribatski stated during the winter session of the NATO-Azerbaijan international school.
NATO backs Azerbaijan's efforts to integrate into the European structure.
Ribatski was appointed the position in September 2007. The key goal is to improve partner relations with the Caucasus and NATO, as well as to work on political and security issues in the region.
The second round of talks starts within the framework of cooperation for peace between NATO and Azerbaijan. NATO and Azerbaijani officials noted the success of the first stage of cooperation.
