Operative Group Sent to Russia to Investigate Assassinations Committed in Baku (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku / Т corr K. Zarbaliyeva / An operative-investigation group has been sent to Russia to investigate two murders committed in Baku in the past months, Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General, Zakir Garalov, briefed the media on 10 December.

At the beginning of December, official representative of the Azerbaijani representation of unrecognized Chechen Republic, Imran Gaziyev, was killed as a result of a shooting in Baku's district of Binagadi.

On 25 November, a man was shot in front of the restaurant Tongal on Hasan Aliyev Street. The victim was Ragub Rustamov, 45, a Russian citizen from the Azerbaijani region of Agdam. On 28 November, Akif Sariyev and Alinur Sariyev, who were nearby the victim when the incident happened, were accused of leaving a person in danger and not informing the police of the incident.

The Prosecutor-General believes that these crimes will be resolved in the near future.
