Azerbaijan’s Khojaly Tragedy to be Discussed Again at Turkish Parliament
Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 February / Тrend News corr S. Agayeva / On its 16th anniversary, the Khojaly genocide will be discussed again at the Turkish Parliament, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Zakir Hashimov said in a telephone conversation from Ankara on 14 February.
On the night of 25 to 26 February 1992 the Azerbaijani settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh, Khojaly, was occupied by Armenian separatists and 613 Azerbaijanis were brutally killed.
In 2007, the Turkish Parliament developed a draft law on the Khojaly tragedy, where it described the slaughter of civilians as genocide.
On the 16th anniversary of the tragedy, the Turkish Parliament will hold an exhibition dedicated to the massacre and a documentary film will be viewed.
