Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 March /corr. Trend R.Hafizoglu / Inactivity of the British army as part of the coalition forces in Iraq's city of Basra brought to danger of armament of the terrorists and losing of control on the city. "Inactivity of the British forces will give an opportunity to Iran to arm the terrorists of Basra which is considered as the second capital of Iraq," Iraqi politician Riyad al-Gayim said.
The Turkish media reported on 18 March that in his interview with Turkish source of media, the Foreign Minister of Iraq, Hoshyar Zebari, accused the British troops in Basra of inactivity and creating conditions for occupation of Basra by the terrorists.
"The British troops in Basra do not fight against the terrorists according to the order of the Iraqi Government," Iraqi politician Riyad al-Gayim reported to Trend via e-mail from Baghdad on 19 March. He considers that inactivity of the British forces in Basra takes place according to the official order of the Iraqi Government.
"Accusing the British forces of inactivity, the Government wants to light green for Iran in the region," the politician said. According to him, the British troops in Basra can fight against the terrorists and they should re-gain their mission.
The Director of the Kirkuk Strategic Studies Center, Ahmed Tagi, considers that the British troops in the Country are capable to fight against the terrorists. "It is impossible that the coalition forces supplied with any kinds of arms and equipment remain helpless before the terrorists," Tagi reported to Trend by telephone from Kirkuk on 19 March.
He considers that inactivity of the British forces will bring to the activation of the pro-Iranian forces and other terrorist groups in Basra. "The British forces should re-establish their mission. Otherwise, the Iraqi Government will lose control on Basra," he said. Tagi considers that inactivity of the British peacekeepers takes place according to a special order of the Iraqi Government.
According to the information by various sources of media, the number of killed and missing people in Iraq since the beginning of war in Iraq varies between 350,000 and 4mln.
