Azerbaijani Ruling Party to Hold Arrangements Jointly with Standing Committee of International Conference of Asian Political Parties

Azerbaijan, Baku, 29 May / Trend corr. E.Babayev / The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) jointly with the Standing Committee of International Conference of Asian Political Parties will hold arrangements in Baku, MP Mubariz Gurbanli, the Deputy Executive Secretary of NAP, told to Trend on 29 May.

The headquarters of the Committee is based in Seoul. The 9th meeting of the Committee was held in Pakistan on 29 April 2008. The meeting attended by the representatives from 51 Asian countries. The participants of the meeting have decided to hold workshop on the topic "State assistance to political parties and to prevent political corruption".

During the meeting NAP together with the Committee stated will to hold similar event in Baku, Gurbanli said.

NAP was founded in Nakhchivan in 1992.  The all-nation leader, the late ex-President Heydar Aliyev was the Party's first Chairman. President Ilham Aliyev is the current chairman of the Party, which has been in power for 14 years.
