NATO Hopes that Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan to Meet Democratic Principles
Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 June / corr. Trend M. Aliyev/ NATO is hopeful that the presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held in line with the democratic principles and will provide Azerbaijani people with an opportunity to make their free choice, Jean-Francois Bureau, assistant NATO Secretary General on the public policy said in a conference on Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation in Baku on 24 June.
Bureau also stated that ' Azerbaijan has achieved al lot' since it began to realize Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) with NATO.
Azerbaijan's integration to NATO is being discussed in Baku in the international conference Integration of Azerbaijan to Euro-Atlantic Space and Democratic Election.
The conference aims at discussing bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Euro-Atlantic bloc.
The conference has been organized by NATO and Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan. More than 100 international experts and Azerbaijani officials are taking part in the conference.
