Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 August / Trend , U. Sadigova/ The bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iraq and restoration of diplomatic relations are being discussed at the moment between the Lebanese Premier Fouad Siniora and Iraqi Premier Nouri al Maliki in Baghdad.
The Lebanese Premier said that he appreciates the efforts by the Iraqi government to set up national government bodies and to establish relations with the Arab neighbors in the Near East, Aljazeera reported on 20 August.
The Premier of Iraq added that he is thankful to the Lebanese government for the support that it provides to improve life standards in Iraq. Nouri al-Maliki added that Iraq intends to attract the investments of the Arab states and to adopt new laws concerning relations with the regional neighbors.
Besides the Lebanese Premier, the Foreign Minister of Lebanon Fevzi Saluh, Minister of Information Tariq Matri, Minister of Finance Mohammad Shutah and other Lebanese officials also visited Iraq.
The current visit of the Lebanese head of government is the first since the US intervention to Iraq in 2003.
