Patronage of Azerbaijani Imprisoned Police Officer’s Son by Prosecutor General’s Office Denied

Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 August / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / The information that the son of Haji Mammadov, life imprisoned, received identity passport through assistance of Prosecutor General's Office is denied.

"Mammadov's lawyer lodged a complaint to Prosecutor General's Office on illegal activity of Passport Registration Department under the Internal Ministry against him. Prosecutor General's Office submitted complaint to corresponding departments," Vugar Aliyev, a head of Prosecutor General's Office news-service, told Trend .

Mammadov's son Teymur Mammadov has appealed to the Passport Registration Department under the Internal Ministry to obtain an identity passport, however he was rejected.

Mammadov and his lawyer Samad Aliyev consider that Department's such actions are connected with Haji Mammadov's personality and his past.

Mammadov has appealed to General Prosecutor Zakir Garalov on the issue.

Aliyev issue was solved as soon as the General Prosecutor meddled into the problem.

Haji Mammadov and criminal gang headed by him was revealed as a result of the Black belt operation by the National Security Ministry in March 2005.

Operation revealed that Mammadov and the criminal gang had been committed 13 deaths from 1995 to 2005.

The gang had been accused of 80 Articles of the Criminal Code.
