Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 October /corr. Т R.Novruzov /On 11 October the CIS Executive Secretary, Sergey Lebedev, will meet with the Head of the Executive Secretary of Sumgayt City within CIS observation mission, the Advisor of Press Service of CIS Executive Committee, Maria Gutsalo, told Trend by telephone on 11 October.
According to Gutsalo, Lebedev will arrive in Sumgayt in the fist half of the day. In the city, he will visit polling stations and after returning to Baku, the polling stations in Baku.
Lebedev plans to hold monitoring of the polling stations in Azerbaijan's district of Ismayilli on 12 October.
The CIS observation mission opened its office in Baku in mid October. Today as a result of observation of the pre-election situation in the country, the mission has prepared two reports, in which pre-election situation in Azerbaijan was evaluated as good with the insignificant organizational deficiencies. The number of the mission, whose activity covers not only the capital, but also all regions of Azerbaijan, composes approximately 390 people.
The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on 15 October. Seven candidates will take part in the elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
