Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 October / Trend , corr. A. Huseynbala/The candidature of the eminent scientist will be nominated to the chairmanship position to the new established opposition party of Azerbaijan.
"Despite I initiated to establish the party, I want it is headed by eminent scientist," Aydin Guliyev, the chief editor of the Baku Khabar newspaper, told Trend .
From 1992-1998, Guliyev had been a member of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP). In 1998, Guliyev left NAP and joined the opposition Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) and became the ideological secretary of the party. In 2007, Guliyev left DPA. Later, Guliyev stood for establishment of a new political party.
At present, the works have been carries out to announce members of the Organization Committee of the party. Guliyev did not announce the name of the candidate to the chairmanship position.
"The names of 11 people, which will be submitted to the Organization Committee, are known, but still have not been announced. We will announce the names in the first half of December," Guliyev said.
Guliyev stated that the final decision related his departure from media depends on his new position in the party. "If the position that I will take in the new established party will hinder my journalistic activity, I will leave from the chief editor position," Guliyev added.
