The Georgian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting with the Council of Europe secretary general's new special envoy.
Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Nalbandov held a familiarization meeting with Special Envoy Boris Vodz, the ministry said.
Council of Europe Political Director Claduia Luciani and Georgian Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe Zurab Chiaberashvili attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on cooperation issues between the Council of Europe and Georgia and future relations.
The Georgian officials drew the attention of their guests to the difficult human rights situation in the conflict zones. They also thanked Council of Europe officials for their monitoring to reveal human rights violations.
